50 Cent's Latest Business Venture Sends Him to the Heartland of America

Rapper 50 Cent has chosen an unexpected place for his new business. Curtis Jackson, better known as 50 Cent, is opening a film studio, but not in Hollywood. He's opted for Shreveport, Louisiana, moving away from the typical movie industry hub.

Jackson expressed his enthusiasm about this venture. "I’m beyond excited to introduce the expansion of my G-Unit Film & Television through the launch of G-Unit Studios right here in Shreveport," he said in a statement to Fox News Digital. He sees this as more than entertainment; it's about telling important stories and giving a voice to the underrepresented.

He views the move not just as a business decision but as a commitment to nurturing talent and building a creative community. "We see Shreveport as a beacon of inspiration and creativity," Jackson added.

G-Unit Film & Television, founded in 2003, has produced documentaries and popular shows. Jackson has collaborated with networks like Starz, producing and starring in the series "Power."

Shreveport's Mayor, Tom Arceneaux, is thrilled about the new studio. "This city’s rich culture and talent provides the perfect backdrop for this endeavor," he stated. The city anticipates fruitful collaborations and exciting entertainment prospects.

Jackson isn't the first to take the industry beyond Hollywood. Other celebrities have also relocated their ventures. Mark Wahlberg, for instance, aims to transform Las Vegas into "Hollywood 2.0," creating thousands of jobs.

Wahlberg appreciates Las Vegas for its affordability and lifestyle. "We want to train people both in front of and behind the camera," he emphasized. The move aims at local employment and better salaries.

In 2019, Tyler Perry opened his studio in Atlanta, feeling overlooked by Hollywood. "I clearly believe that I’m ignored in Hollywood, for sure, and that’s fine. I get it," Perry told Gayle King on "CBS This Morning." He focuses on African-American stories that resonate with his audience, which Hollywood often doesn't understand.

Perry is involved in various aspects of filmmaking, including writing, directing, and occasionally acting. His work, especially his portrayal of "Madea," is renowned. "I know what I do is important," Perry shared. "I know what I do touches millions of people around the world."
