All-Star Lineup Set to Perform at Trump Inauguration Events

Donald Trump's presidential inauguration will feature performances by Carrie Underwood, Village People, and Lee Greenwood.

Underwood expressed her excitement, saying she’s “honored” to sing as Trump takes the oath of office on January 20. "I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the Inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event," she said. "I am humbled to answer the call at a time when we must all come together in the spirit of unity and looking to the future."

The 2005 "American Idol" winner will perform "America the Beautiful" alongside the Armed Forces Choir and the United States Naval Academy Glee Club. A spokesperson for the Trump-Vance Inaugural Committee confirmed her performance during the swearing-in ceremony for President-elect Trump and Vice President-elect JD Vance.

The Village People, known for their disco-era hits like "Y.M.C.A." and "Macho Man," are also joining the festivities. Their music has been a staple at Trump’s rallies throughout the past year.

The group will perform at one of Trump’s inaugural balls and a rally in Washington the day before the inauguration. On Facebook, they addressed potential backlash: "We know this won’t make some of you happy to hear however we believe that music is to be performed without regard to politics."

They continued, "Our song Y.M.C.A. is a global anthem that hopefully helps bring the country together after a tumultuous and divided campaign where our preferred candidate lost. Therefore, we believe it’s now time to bring the country together with music."

Opera singer Christopher Macchio and Lee Greenwood, famous for "God Bless the U.S.A.," are also slated to perform at various inaugural events. The celebrations aim to blend music and patriotism, marking the start of Trump’s term.
