Oof. We knew the meat shortage was coming but we were hoping it would be quite so quick! Nearly 20 percent of Wendy's U.S. restaurants have already run out of beef according to a Wall Street analyst.
Analyst James Rutherford stated that 1,043 Wendy’s restaurants, or about 1/5 of the U.S. total, has listed beef items as being out of stock.
Our food supply chain has been disrupted due to the coronavirus. Many processing plants have been shut down, and therefore farmers have no where to send livestock for our meat consumption.
The New York Post reports:
Hamburgers have disappeared from some of the fast-food chain’s restaurants as the coronavirus crisis roils the country’s meat supply.
Some Wendy’s locations postedsigns warning that their signature “fresh, never frozen” beef was not available, photos show. Other eateries said they were not serving burgers with two or three patties, customers said on Twitter.
Many restaurants in Ohio, Michigan, Tennessee and New York restaurants are currently out of beef, while other states’ menus do not suggest there are any supply chain issues.
“Some of our menu items may be in short supply from time to time at some restaurants in this current environment,” Wendy’s told Restaurant Business. “We expect this to be temporary, and we’re working diligently to minimize the impact to our customers and restaurants.”

On Friday conservative analyst Candace Owens was suspended from Twitter for a tweet that attacked "dictator" Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer.
“Apparently [Whitmer] believes she is a duly elected dictator of a socialist country,” Owens tweeted, but it has since been removed. “The people of Michigan need to stand up to her. Open your businesses. Go to work. The police think she’s crazy too. They are not going to arrest 10,000,000 people for going to work.”
President Trump Says White House Will Release 'Conclusive' Evidence Coronavirus Originated in Wuhan Lab
During President Trump's Sunday night town hall on Fox News, Trump suggested his administration will soon release "conclusive" evidence showing the coronavirus originated out of China’s Wuhan Institute of Virology.
“I don’t think there is any question about it,” Trump replied when he was asked if China is to blame for the spread of the pandemic. He then told host Brett Baier that his administration “will be giving a very strong report on what we think happened, and I think it will be very conclusive.”
