On Thursday, Attorney General Bill Barr called for the "draconian" lockdown restrictions in the United States to be lifted by May 1.
"We have to be very careful to make sure this, that the draconian measures that are being adopted are fully justified, and there are not alternative ways of protecting people," Barr told Laura Ingraham on Fox News.
He said that he trusts citizens to social distance on their own, and that they can't just keep people hiding at home.
“When this period of time at the end of April expires, I think we have to allow people to adapt more than we have, and not just tell people to go home and hide under the bed,” Barr continued.
Just like President Donald Trump said, we cannot allow the cure to be worse than the disease! Considering the almost 20 million people who have filed for unemployment, that's exactly what's happening.
Let's get the country opened back up! Let's get people back to work and production back to normal.
WE CANNOT LET THE CURE BE WORSE THAN THE PROBLEM ITSELF. AT THE END OF THE 15 DAY PERIOD, WE WILL MAKE A DECISION AS TO WHICH WAY WE WANT TO GO!
