'Biden Showered With His Daughter': White House Com Team Under Fire After Sharing Tweet

On Wednesday, Andrew Bates, the White House deputy press secretary, faced criticism for sharing a video from a social media account that ridiculed President Joe Biden.

Bates distributed a video of White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre that had previously been uploaded by Greg Price, a former Daily Caller social media coordinator who now serves as senior digital strategist at XStrategies LLC. Prior to sharing the clip, Price had briefly changed his account username to "Joe Biden Showered With His Daughter," resulting in the label appearing beneath Bates' post.

It appears that Bates retweeted Price's initial post featuring the video, seemingly without recognizing Price's username at the time.

Price pointed out it can't be deleted because it's a government account.

During Thursday's press briefing, Jean-Pierre expressed her frustration with what she deemed to be unfounded criticisms of Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg regarding his management of the train derailment and chemical spill in East Palestine, Ohio.

“There’s been a lot of bad faith attacks on Secretary Buttigieg. If you remember Elaine Chao. She was the head of the Department of Transportation and when there were these types of chemical spills, nobody was calling for her to be fired,” Jean-Pierre said.

After waiting ten days before publicly addressing the crisis, Buttigieg came under intense scrutiny for his handling of the situation. He eventually visited the East Palestine site on Thursday, which marked exactly twenty days since the derailment occurred on February 3rd.

During an interview on Tuesday, Buttigieg acknowledged that he "could have spoken out earlier" following the crisis.

“Our department was on the ground within hours, helping with the response and the investigation,” he said. “Again, I respect the separate role of the [National Transportation Safety Board]. But we have been on the ground literally from day one to make sure that we’re doing our part to support. I do think it’s important to speak out about that, and I could have spoken sooner, and I’m making sure that we are focused on the actions that are gonna make a difference.”
