Bill de Blasio Draws a Laughable Crowd in South Carolina

No one is sure why New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio is running for president. Not even New Yorkers. His campaign is gaining little to no traction.

In the latest embarrassing outing for Mayor de Blasio, he had 15 people show up to a rally in Columbia, South Carolina.

“15 people, including the mayor of Orangeburg, SC (the first person to endorse the mayor’s 2020 campaign) come to hear [Bill de Blasio] speak in Columbia, SC this morning,” NY1 political reporter Grace Rauh tweeted on Saturday.

Rauh took shots at de Blasio, who is polling at under one percent.

“Last night at the fish fry, it was very apparent just how far behind the leading candidates de Blasio is at this point. No de Blasio signs or stickers or t-shirts. No campaign aides or volunteers pushing his candidacy,” Rauh said, per Big League Politics. “As one national political reporter put it to me: de Blasio is not running a campaign. He is just showing up to events.”

It's certainly been a struggle for de Blasio ever since this ill-advised campaign started. One has to wonder how long he can carry on with this before finally deciding to close up shop. How many times can he be embarrassed before he chalks this up as a loss?
