Well this is awkward! While speaking at the Democratic primary debate on Thursday, Joe Biden referred to himself by a title he never held: congressman.
The former Vice President said of his position on criminal justice issues, “I’ve been involved from the beginning, as a young congressman — councilman, I introduced legislation to try to keep them from putting a sewer plan in a poor neighborhood."

The statement was perplexing, as Biden never served in the U.S. House of Representatives, whose members generally refer to themselves as “congressmen” or “congresswomen.” In fact, prior to ascending to the vice presidency in 2009, Biden had spent his entire congressional career in the U.S. Senate, whose members generally are not referred to as “congressmen.”
This isn't the first gaffe that Biden has had recently. In fact, last week, he actually appeared to have forgotten Barack Obama's name! Yikes! Instead he referred to the former president as America's "last president."
Another instance came during the primary debate on Thursday, when he referred to Bernie Sanders as "president" while arguing about healthcare.
"Everybody says we want an option. The option I'm proposing is Medicare for choice," Biden said. "If you want Medicare, if you lost the job from your employer you automatically can buy into this. You don't have... No preexisting condition can stop you from buying in, you get covered, period. And if you notice nobody's yet said how much it's going to cost the taxpayer. I hear there's large savings."
"The president thinks...," Biden continued, while gesturing towards Sanders, and then quickly corrected himself, "My friend from Vermont thinks that the employer's going to give you back if you negotiate."
"Let me tell you something, for a socialist you got a lot more confidence in corporate America than I do," Biden concluded.
Bernie may be socialist, but Biden better be careful. He is starting to look much like Hillary Clinton did during the last presidential election. She constantly appeared foggy, sick, and frail. Perhaps Biden's age is getting to him?
