On Wednesday, former President Donald Trump visited East Palestine, Ohio to bring hope and much-needed supplies to the besieged community. He promised them their needs would no longer go unmet.
“We have told you loud and clear: You are not forgotten,” Trump said during his visit, according to a report from NBC. “We stand with you, we pray for you, and we will stay with you and your fight to help [receive] the accountability that you deserve.”
On Feb. 3, after a train derailment and fire that cast a toxic cloud over the town, residents have been experiencing health issues. Despite being assured it was safe to return, several individuals have reported headaches and rashes as a result of exposure.
Critics of President Biden's administration have used this incident as a sticking point, asserting that federal agencies should have provided the town with more efficient and timely assistance.
Showing his support for first responders, Trump--known for his affinity for McDonald's--visited the local franchise before departing from town.

“What’s your specialty today? … So I know this menu better than you do, OK? I probably know it better than anybody in here,” Trump said in the video on Twitter.
“We’re gonna take care of the fire department. We’re gonna take care of the police department,” Trump said.
“We’ll take care of everything,” he said, also stating everyone at McDonald's would get a free meal.

At McDonald's, Trump was quizzed about President Joe Biden's decision to travel to Europe instead of East Palestine.
“Well, I think he should have come here. I think he should have been here,” Trump said.
