Conservative Organization Announces Counter Programming for Super Bowl Halftime Show

Turning Point USA is planning its own Super Bowl halftime show — one meant to rival the NFL’s.

The conservative organization, founded by the late Charlie Kirk, announced it will host “The All-American Halftime Show” on February 8, 2026. The event, according to Turning Point USA, will celebrate “faith, family and freedom” — a clear contrast to the NFL’s selection of Bad Bunny for the official halftime show.

A flyer shared on social media revealed few details but promised more information and performing artists will be announced soon. The show’s official website currently features a sign-up form that asks just one question: what kind of music fans want to hear. Options include Americana, Country, Classic Rock, Pop, Worship, and even “Anything in English.”

The announcement comes after weeks of debate following the NFL’s choice of Bad Bunny, one of the world’s biggest musical stars. While many fans cheered the decision, others — including former President Donald Trump — expressed disapproval.

“I don’t know who he is. I don’t know why they’re doing it — it’s, like, crazy,” Trump said earlier this week. “They blame it on some promoter they hired. I think it’s absolutely ridiculous.”

Bad Bunny, known for performing primarily in Spanish, has been a vocal critic of Trump-era immigration policies. He recently said he avoided scheduling tour stops in the continental U.S. due to fears that Immigration and Customs Enforcement might raid his shows.

Those concerns didn’t quiet down after his Super Bowl announcement. Shortly after, Trump administration official Corey Lewandowski said ICE would have a visible presence at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara during the event. “We will find you. We will apprehend you. We will deport you,” Lewandowski said during an appearance on The Benny Show.

Super Bowl counterprogramming isn’t new. Animal Planet’s Puppy Bowl has been a lighthearted alternative since 2005, and other networks have run Kitten Bowls and Fish Bowls over the years. But Turning Point USA’s event marks one of the first politically themed halftime alternatives to go head-to-head with the NFL.

Following Charlie Kirk’s death last month, his wife, Erika Kirk, was named CEO of Turning Point USA. Under her leadership, the organization seems eager to keep pushing cultural boundaries — including, it appears, into the Super Bowl spotlight.
