Rep. Brad Sherman (D-CA) didn't waste any time. The Democrat introduces articles of impeachment against President Trump on Thursday, if all things go as planned. Thursday happens to be his first day in office.
Look look everybody! I'm doing something stupid and ultimately meaningless. Just more posturing by empty headed leftists.

He first filed these types of articles in 2017, but with a Republican-controlled House, there was no chance of them going anywhere. In the months that followed more Democrats joined in, but there wasn't much effect that came from it.
At one point Sherman was considered a "moderate." He is very close to Bill and Hillary Clinton's wing of the Democratic Party. In 2016 he backed Hillary over Bernie. Since President Trump was elected he has moved on to being obsessed with removing him, like much of the left.

Per the Los Angeles Times:
Rep. Brad Sherman plans to introduce articles of impeachment against President Trump on Thursday, the first day of Democratic control of the House.
Sherman (D-Northridge) is reintroducing a measure that he first rolled out in 2017. But this year it carries more political significance: The decision of whether to act on it rests with Democrats — not Trump’s Republican allies.
Sherman’s articles of impeachment accuse Trump of obstructing justice by firing former FBI Director James B. Comey, among other wrongdoing.
“There is no reason it shouldn’t be before the Congress,” Sherman said. “Every day, Donald Trump shows that leaving the White House would be good for our country.”
Incoming Speaker Pelosi has tried to keep impeachment articles under control in the beginning. Other Democrats aren't having it, though, and they are getting right to business and making impeachment their number one goal.
For an impeachment to happen, it would have to be confirmed by tw0-thirds of the Senate. Since the Republicans increased their majority in the midterms, this is just not going to happen.
