Democrat 'Senator for All' Set to Meet With Trump at Mar-a-Lago

Pennsylvania Democratic Sen. John Fetterman confirmed plans to meet with President-elect Trump. The meeting will occur before Trump’s second inauguration on Jan. 20.

"President Trump invited me to meet, and I accepted," Fetterman said to Fox News. "I’m the senator for all Pennsylvanians – not just Democrats."

He emphasized his independent approach. "I’ve been clear that no one is my gatekeeper. I will meet with anyone if it helps me deliver for Pennsylvania and the nation," he added.

A source told Fox Digital the meeting will happen this weekend at Mar-a-Lago. It marks the first known meeting between Trump and a sitting Democratic senator at the Florida estate.

Fetterman endorsed Kamala Harris during the 2024 election cycle. Yet, he was one of the few Democrats to acknowledge Trump’s strong voter support, particularly in Pennsylvania.

"There’s a difference between not understanding and acknowledging it exists," Fetterman told the New York Times in October. "The intensity is astonishing."

Before the election, he admitted Pennsylvania voters shared a "connection" with Trump. On CNN's State of the Union, he said, "Trump definitely has a connection with voters here, and that’s why it’s going to be close."

Trump won Pennsylvania, a crucial state for his overall victory. Afterward, Fetterman called it a "serious flex" and criticized Democrats’ rhetoric.

"I love people that are absolutely going to vote for Trump. They’re not fascists," he said. "Scolding harder or clutching the pearls harder isn’t going to work for Democrats."

Fetterman also questioned divisive messaging. "You can be pro-family without insulting people who don’t have kids," he said. "Using terms like 'fascist' alienates voters. It’s not language they connect with."
