Michigan Democratic Rep. Debbie Dingell dropped a bombshell during her appearance on CNN’s "The Lead" with Jake Tapper. She claimed former President Trump has discussed plans for internment camps if he’s re-elected.
Tapper questioned Dingell about protests from Arab American voters against President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, while some Muslim leaders endorsed Trump at a rally. Dingell acknowledged the diversity within the Muslim and Arab American community. But she firmly stated, “The Arab American community needs to be reminded and cannot forget. He wants to ban Muslims. He wants to deport Muslims, and he wants to start internment camps. And that’s what we are busy talking to every voter.”
“Internment camps?” Tapper pressed.
“Yes. He has talked internment camps,” Dingell reiterated. She expressed her concerns, saying, “You know what, Jake, you may have to visit me in one. I get worried enough when he talks about what he’s going to do to his political enemies.”

“He has spoken about that in different audiences,” she said. “I don’t have the exact citation right here, but I’ll find it for you. And he’s been very clear.”
Meanwhile, at a rally in Novi, Michigan, multiple Muslim leaders voiced their support for Trump. They pointed to his promise to end overseas wars. Imam Belal Alzuhairi stated, “We, as Muslims, stand with President Trump because he promises peace, not war!”
Alzuhairi continued, “We are supporting Donald Trump because he promised to end war in the Middle East and Ukraine. The bloodshed has to stop all over the world, and I think this man can make that happen. I personally believe that God saved his life twice for a reason.”
