El Paso native Beto O'Rourke has fallen toward the back of the line in the Democratic primaries. The desperate Texas has now resorted to swearing to become relevant again.
The Democrats never miss the opportunity to politicize a tragedy. This dates back to the Clintons and when Rah Emanuel famously declared Democrats should "never let a good crisis go to waste."
With Beto having trouble getting above 3 percent in the polls, he seized this tragedy as time to take action. He knew the other Democratic candidates would be doing something similar, so he had to do something to go above and beyond them.
What could he do to separate himself from the rest of the pack? How about by swearing and lying?
Beto was asked if there is anything President Trump can do to make this situation better.
His response:
"What do you think? You know the shit he's been saying. He's been calling Mexicans immigrants, rapists and criminals. I don't know, like, members of the press, what the fuck? Hold on a second. You know, it's these questions that you know the answers to. I meant, connect the dots about what's been doing in this country. He's not tolerating racism, he's promoting racism. He's not tolerating violence, he's inciting racism and violence in this country. So, you know, I just, I don't know what kind of question that is.
When you hear someone swearing on national television, you know they’re REALLY pissed off. Beto O’Rourke, I love you man. Thank you ❤️ pic.twitter.com/4eQNkAQtns

Then there was when he lost track of the truth when he compared a very reasonable statement President Trump said to something you might hear in the Third Reich.
“He is saying that some people are inherently defective or dangerous – reminiscent of something you might hear in the Third Reich, not something that you expect in the United States of America – based on their religion, based on their sexual orientation, based on their immigration status, based on the countries that they come from. Calling those in Africa shithole nations and saying that he’d like to have more immigration from Nordic countries, the whitest place on planet Earth today. Again, let’s be very clear about what is causing this and who the president is.”
"The only modern western democracy that I can think of that said anything close to this is the Third Reich, Nazi Germany. Talking about human beings as though they‘re animals, making them sub-human to make it ok to put their kids in cages.” — @BetoORourke pic.twitter.com/UzdZEEeAn2

Beto gave Ted Cruz a run in Texas and at that point looked like one of the top candidates to get the Democratic nominee. Since then he has fumbled through questions and refused to take a stand on key issues. Well, he's taking a stance here when our country is at its most vulnerable. The only problem is, so is the rest of his party.
