Dolly Parton Shares a Family Secret and Why It's 'Extra Special'

Dolly Parton and her younger sister, Rachel Parton George, are sharing their family recipes in a new cookbook. It draws inspiration from their childhood in Tennessee.

The sisters told Allrecipes the cookbook, "Good Lookin' Cookin'," stems from three core family values. "God, music and food," they said, shaped their upbringing.

The Southern-style cookbook is packed with family stories. It reflects on what reminds Dolly of home.

"I think you always link those childhood memories with certain childhood foods that you love," the 78-year-old singer shared. She fondly recalls the people who prepared those meals.

One of the most popular recipes from her cookbook is her sweet potato casserole. You can find the recipe in this article from Fox News.

This isn’t Dolly’s first venture into the food world. "Good Lookin’ Cookin’" is her first mass-market cookbook, but she’s written recipe books before.

She’s partnered with Dollywood, her theme park, to share family recipes. Dolly has also teamed up with Duncan Hines, Lodge Cast Iron, and Krispy Kreme. She even launched her own wine.

The sister collaboration adds something extra special to this new cookbook.
