Elon Musk Plans to Get Cybertruck in Las Vegas Hotel Explosion Back on the Road

Tesla co-founder and CEO Elon Musk announced that the company plans to refurbish the Cybertruck that exploded earlier this week and get it back on the road.

The Cybertruck, despite the incident, retained its signature structure. Even after the fire was put out outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas, it remained easily recognizable.

"The battery pack never even caught fire and the tires are still inflated! Once we get this Cybertruck back to Tesla, we’ll buff out the scratches and get it back on the road," Musk wrote in a post on X.

When someone suggested Musk was joking, he clarified he was completely serious.

"No, I mean it," he replied, shutting down any doubts.

Musk confirmed that the explosion wasn’t caused by the Cybertruck. "All vehicle telemetry was positive at the time of the explosion," he explained.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Sheriff Kevin McMahill revealed evidence found at the scene. "Those are gasoline canisters, they are, um, camp fuel canisters, and large firework mortars," he stated.

McMahill also noted that most of the blast traveled upward, minimizing damage to the area. Even the hotel doors near the truck remained intact.

"Cybertruck is the worst possible choice for a car bomb, as its stainless steel armor will contain the blast better than any other commercial vehicle," Musk pointed out in another tweet.

Authorities identified the driver as 37-year-old Matthew Livelsberger. The man tragically died by suicide, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, citing the coroner’s report.
