Elon Musk Responds to Attacks From John Oliver

elon musk john oliver

Billionaire entrepreneur and businessman Elon Musk faced criticism from a popular comedian on a TV show over the weekend.

In the segment, which lasted more than 30 minutes, John Oliver critiqued Musk's recent acquisition and management of a major social media platform, as well as his involvement in various controversies, including the endorsement of controversial theories.

“History is littered with titans of business who were shitty or broken people, from Thomas Edison from Henry Ford through Steve Jobs. The difference is, by and large, they didn’t open up their brain to let the whole world have a constant look inside, but Elon does,” Oliver said during the attack. “And the glimpses we get can be terrifying.”

On Monday, Musk replied to the comedian's comments in a message on X, the platform previously known as Twitter.

“Oliver was great several years ago, but stopped being funny when he sold his soul to wokeness where humor is basically illegal,” Musk wrote.

The Tesla CEO has frequently criticized mainstream media, alleging that they attempt to tarnish his reputation and that of his businesses.

In other news, last month he filed a lawsuit against the progressive organization Media Matters for America. This action followed their report which highlighted the placement of advertisements alongside objectionable content on X, formerly known as Twitter. This report contributed to a significant departure of advertisers from the company.
