Fox News host Will Cain is fed up with Jake Tapper’s book tour. On Thursday, Cain slammed the CNN anchor’s appearance on Stephen A. Smith’s podcast, where Tapper promoted his new book Original Sin and criticized political bias. Cain said the so-called revelations in Tapper’s book are things Americans have known for years.
Cain called out the media for only saying what’s safe and popular. He said they were quick to attack Trump and defend Biden, creating a false narrative. “They ran into insanity to be the loudest and most inflammatory,” Cain said.
He criticized Tapper’s sudden shift, saying it's exhausting to see the media admit what the public already knew. “I’m tired of giving credit to people reporting the sky is blue after years of saying it was red,” Cain said on his show. “Enough of Jake Tapper.”
Cain played a clip where Tapper admitted none of his sources regretted helping cover up Biden’s cognitive decline. Then Cain pointed out Tapper’s newfound concern about New York AG Letitia James. Tapper told Smith it was “problematic” that she campaigned on prosecuting Trump.
Cain wasn’t impressed. “We knew that,” he said. “We were called conspiracy theorists for saying it. Now Tapper gets applause for admitting it years later?”
Tapper is facing backlash for the book, especially over his previous silence. Critics say he avoided reporting on Biden’s decline when it mattered. Some believe the book is damage control.
NewsNation’s Chris Cuomo blasted Tapper too. He said the real cover-up wasn’t Biden’s age, but the media’s bias. “They knew Biden was slipping, but they downplayed it because they wanted Trump to lose,” Cuomo said.
Even Tapper has admitted he didn’t do enough. On his tour, he’s said he’s reflecting with “humility.” But for Cain and others, the damage is already done.
