A billionaire related to California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s wife is hosting a big fundraiser for former President Trump. It’s happening Friday in California.
Tom and Stacey Siebel are behind the event in Woodside, part of the Bay Area. Tom, a billionaire software developer, runs C3.ai, an AI software company. He’s also a distant relative of Jennifer Siebel Newsom, Gavin Newsom’s wife.
Siebel has given a lot of money to Trump’s 2024 campaign and PACs backing him, according to reports. It’s in the hundreds of thousands.
Gov. Newsom, who has been vocal against Trump, was part of President Biden's re-election campaign. But after Biden dropped out in July, Newsom shifted to support Vice President Harris.
KTVU confirmed Trump will attend the event. Tickets range from $3,300 to $250,000 per person.
After a busy week attending debates and 9/11 memorials, Trump is back on the campaign trail. He’ll be in Arizona Thursday, then head to L.A. for a fundraiser.
Friday morning, Trump will speak to the media in the Bay Area, raise more money, then head to Las Vegas for a rally.
