'Golden Age of America': Trump Crushes It During West Point Commencement Speech

President Donald Trump received repeated rounds of applause Saturday as he delivered the keynote address at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, praising the Class of 2025 and declaring the start of a new “Golden Age of America.”

“You are winners, every single one of you,” Trump told the cadets. “You are the first West Point graduates of the Golden Age of America.”

Trump used the address to refocus the military's mission, saying the armed forces should not be used for “drag shows” or “spreading democracy at the point of a gun,” but for defeating enemies and defending the American flag. “The military’s job is to dominate any foe and annihilate any threat to America anywhere, anytime, and anyplace,” he said.

While stressing strength, Trump also said his preference is always peace. “I seek partnership, even with countries where our differences may be profound,” he noted.

The president honored individual cadets throughout the speech. One, Chris, shattered an international 18-mile march record by 13 minutes. “Come up here — come up here, Chris!” Trump shouted. The crowd cheered as Chris told them, “It’s been a long five years, but I couldn’t have done it without any of these guys.”

Trump also praised a group of cadets who built their own hypersonic rocket. “Oh, we can use you,” Trump joked. “We’re building them right now!” He added that the rocket design was stolen by the Russians during the Obama years, drawing laughter from the crowd.

Trump also didn’t shy away from politics. He referenced the investigations he’s faced since leaving office, joking that he’d been scrutinized more than Al Capone. “Can you believe it? And now I’m president talking to you,” he said, met with more applause.

The speech blended Trump’s signature bravado, military pride, and off-the-cuff humor — a crowd-pleaser from start to finish.
