Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani called out current Mayor Bill de Blasio after video surfaced of NYPD officers being doused with water.
Giuliani said this “would never happen in a million years when I was mayor of New York City.”
Video footage went viral that showed incidents where people in Harlm were dumping buckets of water on uniformed officers and also spraying them with water. De Blasio did at least condemn the behavior and said these acts were "completely unacceptable" and he also said, “We won’t tolerate this kind of disrespect.” Despite this, Giuliani still views de Blasio as part of the problem.

According to the video these officers are petrified to take action. What an awful situation for the NYPD. They appear defenseless when people are dowsing them with water.
Giuliani took to Twitter to blast the "Left wing idiots."
This disrespect for the uniform in NYC is result of a Democrat-Progressive (Retrogressive)-Socialist Mayor. This is what happens with knee-jerk disrespect for police. It will only get worse until these Left wing idiots are defeated.

While appearing on "The Ingraham Angle," Giuliani said de Blasio was “absolutely destroying the quality of life in this city.”
He has also attacked de Blasio for homelessness in New York City during his administration. During his time as mayor, Giuliani was known for reducing the number of homeless people in the city.
“He’s a disgrace, and even Democrats don’t support him and are embarrassed of him,” Giuliani said, with it likely he was making a reference to the embarrassing poll numbers as he seeks the Democratic presidential nominee.

“The way you reduce crime is to have police officers with high morale,” he stated. “That uniform should be respected.”
It's hard to disagree. Those are really tough situations for those officers where the people show them absolutely no respect.
