'I Will Likely Run Again': Two-Time Losing Democrat Has Sights Set on Third Attempt

During an appearance on "The Drew Barrymore Show", Georgia politician Stacey Abrams stated that she is considering running for office again, just two months after her most recent loss in a gubernatorial race.

"What's next on the horizon?" inquired Barrymore with enthusiasm. "Can we expect another campaign and rally together again?" she added.

"I will likely run again," Abrams replied.

"Yes!" Barrymore exclaimed.

When inquired about facing "stern opponents who don't always adhere to integrity," Abrams replied "If at first you don't succeed, keep trying. Even if it doesn't work out, keep trying again."

Abrams did not reveal if she plans to contest for the position of governor again, an election she has come second twice to Republican Brian Kemp. In 2018, her margin of defeat was 55,000 votes, but in 2020, it increased significantly to around 300,000 votes, when Kemp emerged victorious.

Abrams, the founder of two significant voting-related groups known as Fair Fight and New Georgia Project, stated that these organizations are her main priority.

“My first responsibility is to make sure anyone who wants to vote can,” Abrams said, per The Hill. “Protecting democracy is not about a person. It’s about the ideals.”

Abrams' political run was notable for the high-fundraising milestones she achieved and the backing she received from well-known celebrities and politicians.

During her 2018 campaign, Abrams raised $27 million. In 2022, her campaign exceeded that amount and raised over $110 million. However, there were criticisms that some of the funds were misused when it was exposed that her campaign had rented a house specifically to produce videos for TikTok. Some people criticized it as excessive spending on social media content.

According to NewsMax, the house that was rented by the campaign team for the production of social media videos for TikTok, reportedly cost $12,500 per month. Additionally, the campaign also spent funds on opening pop-up shops and a truck for campaign merchandise.
