Jimmy John's Employee Has Faceoff With Customer After Refusing to Take Cash

An employee at Jimmy John's trashed a customer's sandwich after the customer wanted to pay with cash.

TikTok, with its billion monthly users, is unpredictable. Videos about fast food, like $1,000 Subway orders and McDonald's tales, get tons of views.

A clip from February 24, 2024, showed a Jimmy John's worker binning a sandwich because the customer insisted on paying cash.

The register issue meant Jimmy John's couldn't take cash that day.

Despite the sandwich being ready, the cashier refused it to the customer who had only cash.

The employee stated, “I’m not gonna risk my job for you,” emphasizing the inability to accept cash or offer a free sandwich.

One TikTok user empathized with the employee's retail and fast food work challenges. “You can really tell when someone has never had to work retail or fast food,”

Another hailed the employee's refusal to risk their job as a standout moment. “I won’t risk my job for you was the best line ever.”

Some questioned the customer's sense of entitlement in the situation. “Why does the guy recording think he’s in the right here?”

And another pointed out that the issue should be taken up with corporate, not the employee. “It’s not the kid’s fault take it up with corporate instead of fighting with a kid.”
