The number of fake Twitter accounts has been a focal point of Elon Musk in his negotiations to purchase Twitter. A judge's ruling will give him the information he desires from Twitter. Delaware Chancery Court Judge Kathaleen McCormick ruled information about fake accounts must be handed over to Musk.

“We look forward to reviewing Beykpour’s communications and will continue to seek information and witnesses until the full truth comes out,” said Alex Spiro, a Musk lawyer, per Bloomberg.
The fake accounts issue has been a major sticking point between Musk and Twitter. Twitter says that about 5 percent of their users are bots while the Tesla CEO estimates it's closer to 20 percent.
Dan Brahmy, CEO of the Israeli tech company Cyabra, agrees with Musk that the number of fake Twitter accounts has been grossly underestimated by the platform. Brahmy estimates the number of fake users on Twitter sits at 13.7 percent.
There will be a showdown in October between Musk and Twitter attorneys when the debate about whether or not the deal will go down.
