Pencil mistakes can be easily fixed. Statues, however, pose a greater challenge.

The Los Angeles Lakers announced plans to correct spelling mistakes on Kobe Bryant's statue. The statue, revealed last month, has errors that drew attention. A timeline for these corrections wasn't given.

German journalist André Voigt spotted the mistakes on X. Errors included misspelling Toronto guard José Calderón's name as "Jose Calderson" and former Laker Von Wafer's name as "Vom Wafer," reported by NBC Los Angeles.

Additionally, "decision" was incorrectly cast in bronze as "decicion."

The statue captures a memorable moment from Bryant. It shows him pointing upwards, commemorating his 81-point game against the Raptors in 2006. This game is iconic in NBA history.

Wilt Chamberlain's 100-point game in 1962 is the only score surpassing Bryant's feat.

The 19-foot statue also features the scorecard from Bryant's legendary game against Toronto.
