LeBron James reacted to the election results on Wednesday. Fox News projected Donald Trump would reclaim the presidency, beating Vice President Kamala Harris.
The Lakers star shared a photo with his daughter, Zhuri. His caption was in all caps. It’s unclear who "their" referred to. Was it aimed at Democrats or the electorate as a whole?
Days before the election, James hinted at his preferences. He posted a deceptively edited anti-Trump video on X. After a game, he expressed his thoughts on the election.
"I wanted to make sure it was seen, heard, and heard with force," he said about sharing the video after returning to Cleveland last week.
His views on women’s rights drove his stance. "Having a daughter, having a wife, having a mother…what (Harris) believes in when it comes to women’s rights—that’s what the future with my kids and where I see our country should be," he stated.
"I feel like that endorsement is only right. I mean, come on—you guys know me. It damn sure wasn’t going the other way."
Early Wednesday, Trump was projected to win as Pennsylvania and Wisconsin were called for him. Later, Fox News forecasted his victory in Michigan, breaking the "blue wall" of Democratic states.
Trump secured a broad range of states, including Idaho, Montana, and Texas. He also carried North Carolina and three districts in Nebraska, among others.
