Local Virginia Gov’t Designates Funds for Militia, Declares 2A Sanctuary Status

If you have been keeping up with what is going on in Virginia, then you know that Governor Ralph Northam has proposed confiscating firearms from residents. If they refuse to give up their guns, then they would be considered felons of the state.

However, the people of Virginia are not standing this down. In fact, they are stepping up to the plate in scores to protect their second amendment rights. Unfortunately, this can only go one of three ways: legislators back down, there is a civil war, or the people back down. And by the looks of things, I don’t foresee the people backing down.

Several counties in Virginia have declared themselves as second Amendment sanctuary cities. Tazewell County even went as far as passing two resolutions:

The first resolution declared Tazewell County a Second Amendment sanctuary, meaning the county declared it would not provide funding for any effort that would infringe upon its citizens’ Second Amendment rights.

The second resolution emphasized the right to a well-funded and regulated militia described in the U.S. Constitution and Commonwealth’s constitution.

According to Travis Hackworth, the Tazewell County Board of Supervisors Chairman, the resolution allocates funding from the county budget for the purpose of funding and maintaining a well-regulated militia

It sounds like they are ready for a fight. I would be willing to bet other counties in the state will follow suit and pass similar resolutions. This is exactly what our forefathers had in mind when they wrote the Constitution. This is exactly why we have a second Amendment! To protect ourselves from a tyrannical government!

Vice-chairman Charles Stacey said the militia resolution allows for immediate county intervention in the event that legislation that violates citizens’ Second Amendment rights is passed by the Virginia General Assembly.

Here is a map released by the Virginia Citizens Defense League, showing what Virginia’s 2A Sanctuary Cities look like:

If legislators think they can take our rights and control us, well, lets just say that we the people won’t allow it. War is coming.
