Michelle Obama has been awarded her first Grammy Award for a spoken word memoir of her bestselling book, Becoming. The book version came out in 2018. Since it was a bestseller, Obama decided to do an audio version as well, in 2019.
The former first lady won the award on Sunday, following closely behind Barack Obama, who also won two awards in the same category.
Obama was nominated for the award in the spoken word category, right along with Beastie Boys, filmmaker John Waters, composer Eric Alexandrakis, and poet Sekou Andrews.

Her Grammy win comes on the heels of an Oscar nomination for the Obama-produced documentary American Factory, which was released by Netflix.
The spoken word album Grammy category has seen a number of Democratic politicians take home awards. Hillary Clinton won for It Takes a Village in 1996, while former President Bill Clinton won for My Life in 2006.
Former President Barack Obama, has won two Grammys for his spoken word albums Dreams From My Father in 2005 and The Audacity of Hope in 2007.
I am not a fan of Michelle Obama. I have never read or listened to her book and I never plan to. I honestly do not care to listen to any of her propaganda bull crap. Of course the Twittersphere is buzzing of her accomplishment. However, instead of just congratulating her, they have used it as a platform to bash First Lady Melania Trump and the current administration.
I am also amazed that someone can win a Grammy for reading their own book out loud. I am clearly in the wrong line of work!
