As a mother, I can wholeheartedly promise you that I would spend life in prison for killing someone who hurt my children, and I would do it with a smile on my face. I have absolutely no doubt about that. Sexual predators who prey on children are disgusting and don't deserve the air they breathe, if you ask me.
One mother has come face to face with this reality. Connie Serbu, 43, is now facing life in prison, after she found the man who molested her six-year-old daughter and killed him.
Serbu was found guilty of second-degree murder after she shot and killed Xavier Sierra in 2016. Although she only went after him because he molested her child, the jury did not feel that was sufficient to let her off without a conviction.
The murder trial took a week. After prosecutors presented evidence showing that Serbu killed Sierra as an act of revenge – the teenager had allegedly touched the daughter inappropriately. Serbu’s daughter had told a babysitter as much. When the protective mother heard that Sierra had molested her child, she wanted revenge on the child molester.
The situation began to unfold when the daughter revealed on May 30, 2016, that Sierra had inappropriately touched her five years prior. At the time of the abuse, the child was six, and Sierra was about 12 or 13. He was supposed to be a family friend but had abused that close contact Serbu’s daughter to molest her.
Serbu came up with her murder plot, and on June 1, 2016, contacted Sierra. She told the recent high school graduate that he could help her assemble a bunk bed for “easy money.” The teen was hooked.
Before she murdered the creep, Serbu asked her husband to watch the children because “she was going to do something.”
Upon meeting up with Sierra, she confronted him about what he did to her daughter and ended up killing him.
Afterwards, the protective mother confessed. She said, “It’s all my fault," but added that she did not regret her revenge.
