NASCAR Rejects Gun Ads, Cites 'Gradual Shift' on Their Stance on Guns

NASCAR Rejects Gun Ads

NASCAR has began rejecting gun ads. One has to wonder how out of touch they can be with their fan base when making a decision like this.

“We just heard from NASCAR on a number of gun-related ads and unfortunately, due to a gradual shift in NASCAR’s position on guns, these ads must be edited/changed—especially those that are depicted as assault-style rifles/sniper rifles. NASCAR is still open to some of the less controversial gun accessories, concealed carry, or classes.”

What do they even mean by a "gradual shift on guns?" Right now they are against assault-style rifles and sniper rifles, but obviously the shift is not over, so what will be left when it is?

What percentage of NASCAR fans are very pro-Second Amendment? One would imagine that almost all of them are. Even if it was a much lower percentage of their fans that are pro-gun, why would they consider turning their back on them? Once upon a time the big sponsor of NASCAR was the R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company for over three decades.

Many people have already vowed to stop watching NASCAR when they learned about this news. If you don't believe me, take a look at the K-Var comment section for this article.

NASCAR looks poised to travel down the path of Dick's Sporting Goods and Yeti. There will be serious backlash. People take their civil rights seriously, especially America-loving NASCAR fans.
