Darius Slay isn’t excited about Brazil.

The Philadelphia Eagles’ star cornerback made his feelings clear. The NFL’s season-opening game in Brazil is not something he’s looking forward to.

The Eagles are set to face the Green Bay Packers. It’s a historic moment, as this will be the first NFL game ever held in Brazil.

But Slay isn’t thrilled. Before heading to South America, he posted a video. In it, he expressed concerns about Brazil’s crime rate.

He even claimed the league warned players to stay in their hotel rooms. “I do not want to go to Brazil. You want to know why? I’m going to tell you why,” Slay said.

“They already told us not to leave the hotel,” he continued. “They told us we can’t do too much because the crime rate is crazy.”

Slay questioned the NFL’s decision. “I’m like, ‘NFL, why would you want to send us somewhere with a crime rate this high?'”

In Brazil, the American football scene is growing. But Slay’s focus is on safety, not football.
