Peyton Manning retired from football six years ago and has yet to get involved with coaching or take a front office position in the NFL. The NFL legend was often referred to as a coach on the field and many thought it was a case of when, not if, Manning would start a coaching career.
While Manning has stayed close to the game with his show "Peyton's Places" on ESPN+ and the ManningCast that he hosts with his brother during Monday Night Football.
Manning appeared on the Colin Cowherd Podcast and discussed why he's not up for coaching during the appearance.
"I don’t see a GM in my future," Manning told the "Colin Cowherd Podcast."
"Coach? I’m the offensive coordinator on my son Marshall's sixth-grade football team. We got beat in overtime on Saturday. A couple of my players asked me why I ran the ball so much in the red zone. So, I think coaching in my future is also out."
Manning said he was instructed by his former coach Tony Dungy to take a year or two off after his football career. During this time he realized coaching isn't for him.
"I decided after that year that I did not want to go into coaching," Manning said. "I didn’t think I’d be a very good coach. I was good at calling plays when I was playing quarterback. I’m not very good when other people are playing quarterback. Hence, my sixth-grade offensive coordinator job so far.
"Every time Jim Sorgi or Brock Osweiler went in, sometimes they’d let me call plays in the preseason, and I sucked at it. Three and out, punt every single time."

NBC Poll Reveals New Least Popular Political Figure
West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin is the least popular political figure in a poll released by NBC News with only 11% of registered Democrats having positive feelings about him.
Just over one-third, 34%, have negative feelings about Manchin, giving him a 23% net-negative, the lowest in the country.
