The U.S. just hit its lowest ranking ever on a global happiness list.
A 2024 survey by Oxford University, Gallup, and the United Nations revealed the drop. The 2025 “World Happiness Report” ranked 147 countries. It looked at average life satisfaction scores from 2022 to 2024.
That timeframe includes the final years of Joe Biden’s presidency. The U.S. landed in 24th place — the worst it's ever done.
Meanwhile, Finland took the top spot again. Finns scored an average of 7.736 out of 10, keeping their #1 title for the eighth year in a row.
