Smokin' Dutchman Holdings, a franchise operator of four Michigan Dickey's restaurants, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Sept. 9, 2024. The company blamed Dickey's for imposing extreme and unreasonable demands that drained its resources.
Despite this, Dickey's parent company has not filed for bankruptcy.
Dickey's Barbecue Pit, founded in 1941, is known for its slow-smoked meats. The menu includes brisket, pulled pork, St. Louis-style ribs, polish sausage, and smoked turkey. Side dishes range from baked beans to mac and cheese and coleslaw.
The chain also serves smoked meat and cheese sandwiches. Options include brisket, pulled pork, turkey, chicken breast, and sausage.
Now, another barbecue chain has entered financial trouble. South Carolina-based Sticky Fingers Restaurants LLC filed for Chapter 11 on March 1.
The company operates four Sticky Fingers Rib House locations. These are in Greenville, North Charleston, and Summerville, S.C., as well as Chattanooga, Tenn.
Sticky Fingers Restaurants is not connected to Sticky's Finger Joint. The chicken finger chain filed for Chapter 11 on April 25, 2024.
