President Donald Trump brushed off nationwide “No Kings” protests over the weekend, calling them a “joke” and insisting he is not acting like a monarch.

“I’m not a king. I work my ass off to make our country great. That’s all it is. I’m not a king at all,” Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One while returning to Washington, D.C., from Florida on Sunday.

Millions of Americans reportedly joined “No Kings” rallies in all 50 states, criticizing what organizers described as Trump’s “authoritarian behavior.” Major demonstrations took place in Washington, New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles, drawing large crowds and heavy media coverage.

Trump dismissed the protests as the work of Democratic megadonors and far-left activists. “I think it’s a joke,” he told reporters. “I looked at the people — they’re not representative of this country. And I looked at all the brand new signs… I guess it was paid for by [George] Soros and other radical left lunatics. It looks like it was. We’re checking it out.”

The former president described the demonstrations as “very small” and “very ineffective,” claiming participants were “whacked out” and unrepresentative of ordinary Americans.

In a separate interview on Fox News’s Sunday Morning Futures — recorded before the protests — Trump addressed the “king” label directly. “They’re referring to me as a king,” he said. “I’m not a king.”

He went on to say that his leadership style has always been about working hard for the American people, not ruling over them. “What I do is fight for this country,” he said. “I’m working harder than anyone to make it great again.”
