Rob Schneider Reveals Why He Canceled His Trip to Canada

rob schneider

Actor and comedian Rob Schneider voiced his dismay following the Canadian Parliament's recent choice to recognize a veteran of Nazi Germany from World War II, joining many others in their criticism.

"Just canceled my trip to Canada," Schneider shared on social media Monday. "I just can't… It's beyond comprehension. The previous scrutiny on Trudeau's handling of the peaceful trucker demonstrations pales in comparison to this shocking and reprehensible move to honor one of ADOLF HITLER’S NAZI SS Soldiers by the Canadian Parliament," he remarked, alluding to the Freedom Convoy rallies protesting COVID-19 vaccine rules that led to significant controversy and multiple detentions.

The comedian, who has Jewish heritage through his father, finished his message with, "No words…"

On Friday, the Parliament celebrated 98-year-old Yaroslav Hunka, a former member of the First Ukrainian Division that served under Nazi leadership, lauding him as a "war hero."

This division was also identified as the Waffen-SS Galicia Division, an arm of the Schutzstaffel organization that battled alongside the Nazis, as reported by the Toronto Star.

This event coincided with the inaugural visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to Ottawa, the Canadian capital. The recognition quickly stirred controversy, prompting several critics and Jewish organizations to call for apologies.

Schneider didn't hold back in his criticism. In a subsequent post, he exclaimed, "Don’t you stupid f---ing Canadians know THIS A--H@LE fought for the NAZIS?! Not the kind we label as Nazis today. Actual, REAL Nazis! He was in battle for Hitler! Not in the manner we label people Hitler nowadays. THE genuine Hitler! The very Adolf Hitler."
