In a disturbing story, a teen shoved a Marine vet in front of a moving train and killed him. This happened in Chicago and now the father of the Marine is sharing the story.
The father of Marine vet Mamadou Balde says that a group of people shoved his son onto the Red Line train tracks in Chicago during an altercation.
“What type of human being could do this to another human being? Throw him in front of a moving train? I just cannot,” dad said.
Balde served in the US Marine Corp. from 2008 to 2015 and did two tours in Afghanistan. As soon as he graduated from Lane Tech High School his father had him join the Marines.
His father expressed some regret with this decision.
“When he came back from Afghanistan the second time, he wasn’t my son. He was not the man I knew,” dad said.
Balde was hoping to catch a train heading southbound at the Jackson Red Line stop at around 5:13 p.m. This was when a group of three men confronted him and eventually threw him in front of a moving train.
“He was walking away from these people. He didn’t want any confrontation. They followed him and threw him in front of the coming train,” his dad said.
The 29-year-old leaves behind his three siblings and his parents.
The father was told that CTA surveillance cameras will help track down the suspects who committed this heinous crime.
“I want justice for my son, that’s it,” he said.
