'The View' Host Throws Shade at 'Uneducated White People' After Trump Win

On Wednesday's episode of “The View,” co-host Sunny Hostin expressed outrage over Donald Trump’s victory. She criticized “uneducated white women” for their role in his win and voiced concerns about “internment camps.”

“I’m profoundly disturbed… we know now that he will have unfettered power,” Hostin stated.

Dressed in black, Hostin reflected on her daughter’s future. Trump’s win means her daughter has “less civil rights” now.

“I remember my father telling me many, many years ago that I was the first person in his family to enjoy full civil rights, and now I have less civil rights than when he told me that,” she recalled.

She highlighted the dangers posed to America's healthcare system. Trump’s victory raises fears about “mass deportation and internment camps.”

“I think [Trump’s victory] had nothing to do with policy. I think this was a referendum on cultural resentment in this country,” Hostin argued.

Hostin placed blame on white women and Latino men for Trump's success. She praised the vice president for running a “flawless campaign.”

“Black women tried to save this country again, last night… what we do not have is white women, who voted about 52 percent for Donald Trump — uneducated white women is my understanding,” she said. “You have Latino men actually voting more for him.”

Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin interjected, saying, “I don’t think white women like being called uneducated white women.”

Meanwhile, Whoopi Goldberg refused to say the president-elect’s name during the broadcast.

“He’s the president. I’m still not going to say his name. That’s not going to change,” Goldberg declared.
