Tim Scott Responds to Rumors He Could Be Offered to Be Trump's Vice President

Tim Scott Trump VP

Republican Sen. Tim Scott from South Carolina has spoken out after Donald Trump considered him as a potential vice president. Scott emphasized his main focus is on helping Trump defeat Joe Biden in the upcoming election.

Trump mentioned to Fox News he's looking at Scott and South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem as potential running mates. He outlined the qualities he wants in a vice president.

Scott stressed the importance of Trump's re-election. "The only thing I can tell you is that the one thing we need is four more years of President Donald Trump," he said. He believes America was better under Trump's leadership.

Trump is taking his time to announce his vice-presidential pick. He wants someone capable of presidency in emergencies. "Always, it's got to be who is going to be a good president," Trump explained.

Trump praised Scott for his recent defense and support. "You know, I called Tim Scott and people like Tim Scott, and I said you're a much better candidate for me than you are for yourself," Trump remarked.

He also commended Noem, who has stated she wouldn't run against him. Trump dismissed rumors of reaching out to Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for a vice-presidential spot, stating it "never happened."
