Trump Campaign Responds to Project 2025 Leader Stepping Down: 'It will not end well for you'

The leader of the Heritage Foundation's Project 2025 has stepped down. This comes amid harsh criticism from former President Trump and Democrats. They have been linking Trump's campaign to the project.

Heritage billed Project 2025 as a blueprint for a future Republican administration. Launched in April 2022, it aimed to restructure many parts of the U.S. government. It is not associated with Trump's campaign.

Trump called the program "absolutely ridiculous and abysmal." The then-Biden campaign targeted it, pointing to the 900-page conservative plan. This was used to steer voters away from a second Trump administration.

Kevin Roberts, president of Heritage, confirmed Paul Dans' resignation. He said, "Under Paul Dans’ leadership, Project 2025 has completed exactly what it set out to do."

Roberts added, "This tool was built for any future administration to use. Paul bravely led this endeavor over the past two years."

Roberts continued, "Paul will be departing the team and moving up to the front where the fight remains. We are extremely grateful for his work."

He also stated, "Our efforts to build a personnel apparatus for policymakers of all levels will continue."

The Trump campaign responded to the news. They said, "Reports of Project 2025’s demise would be greatly welcomed."

They emphasized, "Project 2025 had nothing to do with the campaign. It should not be associated with President Trump in any way."
