A leaked video shows former President Donald Trump criticizing Vice President Kamala Harris as a potential replacement for President Joe Biden. Trump labeled Biden as an “old broken-down pile of crap.”
In the video from The Daily Beast, Trump is seen in a golf cart talking to a group. He asks how they thought he did in the debate and describes Biden’s poor performance.
“Took down that old broken-down pile of crap. He’s a bad guy. He just quit, you know? He’s quitting the race,” Trump said.
“Is that right?” someone behind the camera asks.
“Yep, I got him out. And that means we have Kamala. I think she’s going to be better. She’s so bad, she’s so fucking pathetic,” Trump continues. “But can you imagine that guy dealing with Putin and the president of China who’s a fierce person? He’s a fierce man, very tough guy.”
Since the leak of the video Trump has taken to Truth Social to share the video and use it to promote one of his campaign promises: ending tax on tips.
After the debate, some within the Democratic Party began questioning if Biden could serve a second term. A CBS/YouGov poll found 72% of voters believe Biden lacks the mental and cognitive health to serve as president, up seven points from their pre-debate survey.
Post-debate national polls show a growing lead for Trump, with some indicating he has doubled his previous lead over Biden. According to the Wall Street Journal, Trump now has a 3.2-point average lead over Biden in five national polls, up from his previous 1.5-point lead.
As Democratic donors and DNC members push Biden to step aside, his surrogates remain confident he will be the Democratic nominee in November.
