United Health CEO Shooter May Have Left a Message on Bullet Casings Found at Crime Scene

New evidence points to a chilling detail in the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. Police say the shooter left a message on the bullet casings at the scene.

Words like “deny,” “depose,” and “defend” were reportedly written on the live rounds and casings. Each bullet carried a single word, leaving investigators puzzled about the intended message.

A shocking video shows Thompson walking on a New York City sidewalk. A masked man in a black hooded jacket and backpack creeps up behind him, raising a handgun.

The gunman fires multiple shots, but the weapon jams momentarily. He strikes the gun to fix it and continues advancing toward Thompson, who is desperately trying to flee.

After the attack, the suspect walks calmly between parked cars. He then gets on a bike and vanishes into Central Park, according to the NYPD.

Initial reports suggested the shooter used a Citibike, but police clarified it was not that type of bike. Investigators are examining other clues left behind.

Key evidence includes a cellphone found in an alley near the shooting site and a cup recovered from a nearby Starbucks trash can. Detectives hope these items will help identify the killer.

Surveillance footage captures the suspect in what appears to be a calculated attack. Images released by the NYPD show the hooded figure moments before the deadly shooting.

UnitedHealth Group expressed their grief in a statement. “We are deeply saddened and shocked at the passing of our dear friend and colleague Brian Thompson. We are working closely with the New York Police Department and ask for your patience and understanding during this difficult time. Our hearts go out to Brian’s family and all who were close to him.”
