Video of Tim Walz Getting Booed Goes Viral

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, running as the Democratic vice-presidential candidate, was booed outside a football game between the University of Michigan and the University of Minnesota on Saturday. A video of the event has been widely shared on social media.

The TikTok video showing Walz and his motorcade being booed has gone viral, especially on X, previously known as Twitter. Many of these videos come with political jabs against Walz, though he was actually at the game to cheer on his team, the Golden Gophers—not the Wolverines—at Michigan's "Big House."

The Trump War Room account on X shared the video, labeling it with the comment, "Tampon Tim gets booed outside the Big House." This nickname stems from a law Walz signed, which requires schools to offer menstrual products. The post had gained over 380,000 views and 1,500 shares by Sunday afternoon.

Fox-owned sports outlet OutKick also reposted the video, writing, "Michigan fans ruthlessly boo Tim Walz."

Trump campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung chimed in through an email to Newsweek, calling Walz "a weirdo" and adding that it was no shock he was "heckled and scurried out of the stadium like a rat."

Walz, who used to coach high school football, responded by posting a video of his game day experiences. He highlighted moments with Michigan and Minnesota players, coaches, and fans, along with a picture from a tailgate supporting voter registration efforts at the University of Michigan.

In an X post on Sunday morning, Walz stated, "I'll always be a Minnesota guy. But after meeting some great people at the Big House, I must admit – Michiganders know how to host a good game day."
