The hiker had surfaced facial and head injuries after falling down. When reports surfaced of the injured hiker, the Phoenix Fire Department responded.
After being stabilized in a stretcher-like device and being lifted up from the ground to the helicopter, the out-of-control- spinning began.
Despite the spinning, the hiker is in stable condition and suffered no injuries during the fast spinning.
The aviation department of the unit held a press conference to address the incident. Along with claiming the woman suffered no ill effects from the spinning, they also provided other information on the incident.
"Sometimes when we bring the helicopter up from the ground, [the basket] will start to spin," said Paul Apolinar, chief pilot of the police department's aviation unit, according to the Daily Mail.
"We have a line attached to the basket that's supposed to prevent that. Today it didn't."
Despite the insane spinning, it's good to see they were able to rescue the hiker and no ill effects were suffered from it.
