A 33-year-old seeker of asylum from Afghanistan was arrested in France Saturday after he went on a stabbing spree and killed one person while injuring nine.
The Associated Press spoke with French officials who claim the attack was not terror related.
Per NY Post:
A suspect carrying a knife was arrested. Citing a national police official, The Associated Pressreported that the man was a 33-year-old Afghan citizen who had applied for asylum in France and was awaiting a response.
Officials said the attack, which took place in Villeurbanne, a suburb of Lyon in the southeastern part of France, was not terrorism related.
He took a break in the middle of his stabbing spree to speak with a fellow Muslim and give him a high five.
