Rapper Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, stormed off the set during an interview with Tim Pool, host of the show “Timcast IRL," after he was confronted about his anti-Semitic views.
“They tried to lock me up. That’s right, because every time, I’m just holding stride, and it’s like, I didn’t, I thought I was more Malcolm X, but I find out I’m more MLK, because as I’m getting hosed down every day by the press, and financially, I’m just standing there,” West stated. “And when I found out that they tried to put me in jail, it was like a dog was biting my arm. I almost shed a tear, almost. But I still walked in stride through it.”
“I think they’ve been extremely unfair to you,” Pool replied, talking about how West is treated by the media
“Who is they though?” West replied. “We can’t say who ‘they’ is, can we?”
“The press,” fired back. “I’m not using the, I don’t use the word [‘they’] as the way I guess you use.”
“What do you mean it’s not?” West replied just before he walked out.
“Are you leaving?” Pool asked as West passed by
Another questioned West, “Are you afraid of the press?”

KANYE WEST: They tried to lock me up. That’s right, because every time, I’m just holding stride, and it’s like, I didn’t, I thought I was more Malcolm X, but I find out I’m more MLK, because as I’m getting hosed down every day by the press, and financially, I’m just standing there. And when I found out that they tried to put me in jail, it was like a dog was biting my arm. I almost shed a tear, almost. But I still walked in stride through it.
TIM POOL: I think they’ve been extremely unfair to you.
WEST: Who is they though? We can’t say who ‘they’ is, can we?
POOL: The press. I’m not using the, I don’t use the word [‘they’] as the way I guess you use.
….
POOL: No.
….
WEST: What do you mean it’s not?
POOL: What do I mean? Like, so how about–
[West stands up and leaves]
POOL: Are you leaving?
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Are you afraid of the press?
POOL: He’s gone. I’ll say it right now, you guys want to bring that stuff up [inaudible/crosstalk]. You think Ye’s going to come in here and say, ‘here’s my pain, here’s my suffering,’ I’m going to say, ‘I hear you.’ And then he’s going to say, ‘it was Jewish people,’ and I’m going to be like, ‘Ok, but don’t you consider–?’
[Highlights West’s reaction]: ‘I’m not going to do this, I refuse!’
