Sometimes I think I've seen it all, and that there is nothing out there that can surprise me anymore....then I hear about stuff like this and I am disgusted, saddened, and surprised all over again.
Emily Letts is an abortion counselor at Cherry Hill Women's Center in New Jersey. When she became pregnant, she got an abortion and also decided to film herself getting the abortion. That's right, she literally filmed herself as her child was ripped from her womb and murdered.
Her explanation? She wanted to empower other women and reduce the stigma of getting an abortion.
News flash: abortion ends a life, every single time. There is no way to justify that.
"I learned there are three kinds of doulas: birth doulas, adoption doulas, and abortion doulas," Letts explained in a blog post on Cosmopolitan, "I had never been political about abortion rights before, but the idea of helping women through an abortion and supporting them and reassuring them that they are still wonderful and beautiful resonated deeply with me. I had spent so long in the trappings of competition with other women and putting too much pressure on myself that I just wanted to help women."
When she reached out to Cherry Hill to be a volunteer, she as hired on the spot as a counselor. Then after year of working there, she found out she was pregnant.
Upon taking a pregnancy test, she said, "I knew immediately I was going to have an abortion."
She knew immediately?? How insanely sad is that? She IMMEDIATELY knew she was going to end the life of her unborn child. I can't even wrap my head around that.
"At first I was just going to write a blog," Letts continued, "Then my administrator introduced me to a woman on YouTube who goes by Angie AntiTheist. She filmed herself having a medical abortion — after taking the pill RU486 — to show everyone that she was fine, that it's not scary, it doesn't hurt, and that she was confident in her decision to do it."
Therefore her idea to film her abortion was born. She describes it as being a positive experience and reminisces on "feeling the love from everyone in the room."
"I remember breathing and humming through it like I was giving birth. I know that sounds weird, but to me, this was as birth-like as it could be. It will always be a special memory for me. I still have my sonogram, and if my apartment were to catch fire, it would be the first thing I'd grab," she added.
That is even more sickening. She pretended as if she was having a normal birth and its as if she cherishes the sonogram of the life that was growing inside of her? Give me a break! If she truly cares, she wouldn't have murdered the unborn baby.
