In the latest idiotic viral video challenge, people are challenging themselves to open ice cream in a grocery store and lick it all while videoing it.
Well this woman is facing 20 years in prison for "tampering with a consumer product" after the video of her opening a gallon of ice cream, licking it and putting it back in the freezer went viral on social media.
Staff from the grocery store saw the viral video and noticed the location of where this act went down.
The ice cream company Blue Bell went to the San Antonio Walmart and removed all of the gallons of ice cream from their freezer section.
Blue Bell said in their statement:
“The safety of our ice cream is our highest priority, and we work hard to maintain the highest level of confidence of our customers. Food tampering is not a joke, and we will not tolerate tampering with our products. We are grateful to the customers who alerted us and provided us with information.”
Local police have identified who the woman is with the surveillance video and are on the brink of issuing an arrest warrant.
Per NBC Dallas:
Blue Bell inspected the freezer where the licking incident took place and said it believes it located the half gallon of Tin Roof that was “tampered with,” the statement said.
She could face a second-degree felony charge of tampering with a consumer product, the Lufkin police department said in an email statement to NBC News. The charge comes with a two- to 20-year prison term and up to $10,000 in fines, according to Texas state penal code.
Investigators are also in discussions with the FDA and additional federal charges could be made.
