Amazon is Dumping a Popular Service for Prime Members

Amazon is ending its "Try Before You Buy" program. This service allowed Prime members to test six apparel items for a week before deciding what to keep.

The e-commerce giant announced the decision on its website, stating the program would end on January 31, 2025.

An Amazon spokesperson told FOX Business that customers prefer the broader selection of clothing and faster delivery speeds available outside the program.

"Try Before You Buy only scaled to a limited number of items," the spokesperson explained. They noted customers increasingly use AI-powered tools like virtual try-on and personalized size recommendations.

"With these advanced features, we’re phasing out the Try Before You Buy option," the spokesperson added. They emphasized that free, fast shipping and easy returns will remain available for the full apparel selection.

Some have compared the program to Stitch Fix, which also allows customers to pay only for what they keep. Unlike Stitch Fix, Amazon’s program did not include personal styling.

Instead, customers could choose clothing, shoes, jewelry, and accessories from a wide variety of items.
