Oregon Ducks' football coach, Dan Lanning, shared a video on Twitter. He said he's staying at his school and won't replace Nick Saban at Alabama.
"I want to be here in Eugene for as long as Eugene will have me," he said about staying in the city where the University of Oregon is.
"This place has everything that I could possibly ever want," the coach said. He talked about people always looking for something better, but he thinks Eugene is great.
At the end of his video, there was text saying, "If you're scared your coach is leaving... then come play for us... the Ducks aren't going anywhere... and I'm not leaving..."
Lanning finished the video coolly by showing himself smoking a cigar.
Lanning was thought to be the top choice for Bama to replace Saban. This was reported by Brett McMurphy from ESPN.
Lanning is going back to the Ducks team, which was sixth in the nation in 2023. With the college football playoffs growing from four to 12 teams, Oregon has a good chance to make an impact and win a championship.
Alabama needs to find someone else to take over for Saban, who retired. Saban's replacement will have a tough job, as Saban won six national titles with Alabama.
