Cringe! Mattel Announces Gender-Neutral Dolls

Well this is cringeworthy news! Popular toymaker Mattel has announced a new line of gender-neutral dolls. They claim that their research shows that children "don't want their toys dictated by gender norms."

That is a laughable statement. Let children be children and stop forcing adult concepts, such as sexuality, onto children. Creating dolls that feed into the mentally unstableness of the gender-confused only worsens the problem.

Mattel's press release states that children will be able to customize their dolls. They can choose hair length and other things like wearing pants, a skirt, or both.

Mattel Fashion Doll Design Senior Vice President Kim Culmone said, “Toys are a reflection of culture and as the world continues to celebrate the positive impact of inclusivity, we felt it was time to create a doll line free of labels. Through research, we heard that kids don’t want their toys dictated by gender norms."

She said that there will be six different doll kits for customers to choose from in the Creatable World doll line.

"Each kit includes one doll, two hairstyle options and endless stylingpossibilities." Culmone added, "This line allows all kids to express themselves freely which is why it resonates so strongly with them,"

"We’re hopeful Creatable World will encourage people to think more broadly about how all kids can benefit from doll play," she concluded.

Each kit will be $30 and people will be able to purchase them from popular retailers such as Amazon, Target, and Walmart.

It doesn't surprise me that Target would carry something like that, but it's interesting that other large retailers picked it up as well.

Why can't we just let kids be kids?
